Meet your Hosts
Elisabeth Dorosh RN & Dr. Mayredlis Cruz
We’re a perinatal chiropractor and a former postpartum nurse turned home birth moms—two women passionate about physiological birth and the transformation that happens when you’re supported to birth on your own terms.
You are capable of far more than you’ve been led to believe. But the system is loud, often broken, and too commonly works against women, their instincts, and the sacredness of birth. Our mission is to cut through that noise and help you navigate the decisions, choices, and crossroads of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with clarity, confidence, and trust in your own innate wisdom.
Here, we share raw and empowering birth stories, interview experienced birth workers, break down the topics you’ll walk through in this season, and even bring on our husbands to destigmatize home birth and normalize the incredible things women’s bodies are designed to do.
This is a space to feel informed, grounded, supported—and to be reminded that you, too, can birth from within.

We both experienced homebirths and the deep transformation that happens when we lean into intuition and step away from what’s become routine in modern maternity care.

Due Dates: Why Your Due Date Isn’t a Deadline | Trusting Your Body and Baby in Birth- Episode 2
Due dates aren’t deadlines — they’re just estimates. Somewhere along the way, due dates became eviction notices for babies. In this episode, we’re shifting that mindset — reframing the “deadline” of 40 weeks into a more natural due date range. A term pregnancy can span five whole weeks: Early term: 37 weeks – 38 weeks 6 days Full term: 39 weeks – 40 weeks 6 days Late term: 41 weeks – 41 weeks 6 days Post-term: 42 weeks and beyond When we understand this range, we realize how much room there truly is for normal. Every baby — and every body — has its own perfect timing. In fact, your baby plays an active role in signaling when labor begins! We talk about: *Why due dates can create unnecessary pressure *The mindset shift from control to trust and surrender *How babies trigger labor when their bodies are ready *The truth about how due dates are calculated — and why one-size-fits-all gestation doesn’t make sense *The beauty (and challenge) of waiting and letting go

Know Your Why: The Key to an Empowered Birth: Episode 3
Every birth journey begins with a question: Why do you want physiologic, natural birth?
In this episode, we dive into the importance of being grounded in your “why” — your personal anchor that will guide you through the challenges of labor. Whether it’s managing the intensity and duration of contractions or navigating constant offers of interventions, knowing your reason keeps you centered and empowered.
We share personal stories: *One of us was determined to avoid a c-section and did everything possible to make that happen. *The other wanted to explore her capabilities and avoid the cascade of interventions that often comes with hospital birth — understanding the risks, from fentanyl in an epidural to unnecessary procedures.
Education is a guiding light: knowing your options and the risks empowers you to make informed choices and advocate for yourself. This episode is a reminder that when you know your why, it becomes your anchor, your compass, and your source of strength.
Ask yourself: WHY do you want this birth experience?
From Fear to Confidence | Getting Guys On Board- Episode 4
So many men won’t even consider homebirth — often because of fear, lack of education, or simply not knowing what to expect. In this episode, we bring our husbands on to share how they shifted their mindset, prepared, and learned how to truly support us through birth. We talk about the contrast between hospital and homebirth, and how their roles completely change in each setting. In the hospital, they had to learn to take charge — to advocate, ask questions, and protect their wife’s space. At home, they learned how to be present, grounded, and confident in trusting the process. We also dive into managing expectations. Husbands can’t read our minds — they’re out of their comfort zone, too. Preparing together gives them tools to know how to best support you, whether that’s taking photos, holding your hand, or providing counter pressure during labor. Your husband’s energy and mindset play a major role in your birth experience. His calm confidence, education, and belief in you can shape everything. We also discuss how a doula can be a valuable support for both mom and dad — helping guide, reassure, and create a strong birth team dynamic. We urge men to do the groundwork: learn, research, and understand why homebirth might be right for you. Education is power — and familiarity with birth can make all the difference in supporting your wife and welcoming your baby into the world.
